AI and Emerging Technology

AI Network

Our AI Network brings together colleagues from councils and public sector organisations across the North West who are exploring the use of AI and emerging technologies in their workplaces. The network provides a space to share best practice, learn from one another, and collaborate on developing effective, ethical AI solutions tailored to public sector needs. Expert speakers join sessions to offer insights on key topics, while members showcase their own projects to support shared learning. By working together, we aim to strengthen digital innovation, improve service delivery, and build confidence in using AI across the sector.

Decoded AI Apprenticeships

In collaboration with Decoded, we’re offering levy-funded AI apprenticeships designed to support those driving AI adoption and innovation within their organisations. These programmes help formalise learning, build practical expertise, and ensure participants stay ahead in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. Because they’re fully funded through the Apprenticeship Levy, they provide a financially accessible route to gaining accredited skills in AI, making it easier than ever to invest in future-ready talent.

Decoded helps organisations build the data and AI skills they need to thrive in a digital world. They work with leaders, teams and governments across the globe to turn complex technologies into practical capability. Their focus has always been on data and AI, supporting organisations to move beyond awareness and into confident, effective application.

Maximising MS Copilot

As part of our continued support for local authorities across the North West, we’ve seen growing interest in generative AI tools like ChatGPT. However, many councils already have access to Microsoft Copilot through existing licences—and aren’t yet making full use of its capabilities.
This focused 2-hour remote masterclass is designed to help you bridge that gap and unlock the full potential of Copilot in your organisation.
Led by expert associate Nick Crawford, this session will help you:

Maximise Copilot’s Impact: Discover how to use Copilot effectively in day-to-day operations and empower others to do the same.
Understand Its Strengths and Limitations: Learn what Copilot can and can’t do, and how to integrate it seamlessly into your workflows.
Preview What’s Next: Get an exclusive look at Copilot Phase 2, currently in testing, and hear about upcoming enhancements.
Take Away Practical Tools: Receive a shareable guide to help embed what you’ve learned and build confidence across your teams.

Who Should Attend?

This session is ideal for professionals in HR, L&D, OD, IT, digital transformation, and change leadership—especially those who can champion and cascade learning across their teams.
