Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Practitioners Course
Is this programme for you?
“Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of one’s thoughts, feelings and surroundings in the present moment. It encourages an acceptance of life as it is without judgement or reaction. Mindfulness can help cultivate great self-awareness leading to improved physical and mental health.”
So many people suffer from the inability to switch off, as well as being mentally “full” during the day, restricting their ability to perform sometimes even the smallest of tasks.
Mindfulness helps you to learn to switch on and off at appropriate times, leading to a better quality of life. Not only do you benefit from improved wellbeing you will also learn how to manage the crucial work/home balance; this especially helps people who are off work through stress.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Practitioners Course consists of eight modules which provides you with a sound knowledge-base of Mindfulness in the first six sessions, followed by two sessions learning to enable others both in group and one to one situations. Each session is two hours and will consist of mainly practical learning, rather than theory, as the student will have completed paper – based learning away from the classroom.
The course is delivered by Russell Treasure, who is already working throughout the industry teaching Mindfulness to adults and young people. With a wealth of experience in wellbeing, Russell is also able to support those who are suffering with anxiety, stress and depression.
The sessions have an incredibly positive impact on those who attend, as they learn simple yet profoundly effective skills to help manage emotional difficulties, reduce stress levels, and improve general levels of happiness and wellbeing. With great passion and a huge depth of knowledge and insight, Russell guides those who need it, back to a place of psychological ease.
This course requires home study, with each module being released the week before so that the student can study and prepare for the next weeks’ class. A short multiple-choice paper will be taken each week to confirm learning and any areas for feedback and/or further study. In addition, a very brief diary will be kept, noting what practice was done away from the classroom.
Following completion of the eight-week course, students will be observed whilst delivering to others, so that feedback and further learning can be passed on.
