Participants may be working within a wide range of backgrounds, including education, local government, health and wellbeing. The course is also suitable for those currently or planning to practise as a supervisor for coaches and mentors. Participants will be looking to get the very best out of their staff through highly effective, professional, ethical and developmental supervision, ensuring that all team members are working to full capacity in a supportive, innovative and inspirational working environment.
The course incorporates a blended learning approach including face to face and online tutorials, online and work-based learning, and access to relevant reading and research. The course is split into three learning modules which cover the knowledge required for successful supervision, the practice of working as a professional supervisor and reflections on personal and professional success. Each module is assessed through a mix of written assignments and the completion of a reflective portfolio, using evidence of supervision work, reflective practice, feedback and further development planning.
