Using People Analytics and Data within HR and OD Functions

Overview 

This session will show how analytics and research principles can be applied to our people functions. It is vital that we understand the make up of our workforce along with the factors that will impact on it. To do this effectively, we must apply a structured and non-biased approach to gathering and interpreting data which will inform our decision making and support the application of appropriate workforce interventions. 

Objectives 

  • To define people/organisational analytics and distinguish this from the collection of organisational data. 
  • Identify where your organisation sits within the spectrum of people analytics. 
  • Highlight any barriers your organisation may have in developing its people analytic function. 
  • Determine what steps you may take to improve your analytical function. 
  • Begin to plan how you may use people and organisational analytics to support an organisational initiative. 
  • Consider how your data will be best presented to stakeholders through data visualisation.
