Local government workforce is predominately female with the total population circa 74% of the total workforce, with a growing number of menopausal age women who struggle with working whilst dealing with the menopause and its symptoms can be challenging for them to cope and for managers to fully support. This one-day workshop has been designed for managers of teams programmes are designed for individuals who have management responsibilities to learn more about how they can support their team members.
The CiPD state every manager regardless of age or gender should know what the menopause is and how it may affect the mental and physical wellbeing of staff at work. Menopause shouldn’t be a taboo subject, and everyone should feel they can have a conversation with their line manager, especially when they need guidance and advice. Almost one million women have left their job because of menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats and increased anxiety, while others are forced to take long-term absence from work to manage symptoms.
We are looking to hold this regional event sometime in April and it is open to members and non-members. Join our expert Jeannette Jackson a nutritional biochemist who has worked as a executive health consultant for many public and private sector organisations to offer expert scientific advice on all areas of health, nutrition and wellness to enhance staff productivity and performance.
