Staff engagement is a key issue for all organisations and from our conversations with HR/OD leads we know that one of the difficulties authorities experience is finding tools to help measure improvements in staff engagement that are a good fit for public services and are affordable.
We have started to do some research to identify what is available and have gathered examples of tools and approaches and we are keen to share the findings and to hear from our members about their needs in relation to staff engagement.
In addition to sharing the existing approaches and tools we would like the opportunity to explore the option of creating a NW tool that could provide regional benchmarks on some key measures and the flexibility for authorities to add some customised elements to a questionnaire. If there is support for a collaborative approach and an opportunity for authorities to find cost effective option we would like to develop a tool and pilot this over the next few months .
We have arranged a workshop to explore different engagement tools to improve performance and test out the appetite for a shared NW tool.
