As we move towards the four week countdown to the nomination deadline at 12 noon on 18 April of The Health Education England led Adult Learners’ Week Award’s we are hoping you can encourage all your colleagues to consider nominating and maybe look to profile some of your amazing volunteers too. We are more aware than ever of how important it is to demonstrate just how important the people are who (both paid and voluntary) make up the NHS and that we need to get better at shouting about why through the stories that the nominations tell.
The web link in the Fact Sheet provided in previous blog posts and HERE again takes readers to all the key awards information. This year we have seven award categories and a number of key award themes which run through all seven award categories and which reflect some new award sponsors. These award themes shine a spotlight on all kinds of :
· innovation and innovators
· commitments to widening participation in healthcare education and supporting returners
· the value public, carer and patient engagement
· and support for international recruits.
Above all else we want to shout about people who care about care. As always we recognise every nominee and seek to deliver local recognition ceremonies to raise the profile of the value of learning and learners in healthcare and the importance of learning for both individual and organisational development.
